Learn It or Live It Again
One of the greatest gifts in recovery is that we don't have to keep repeating the same mistakes.
Experience is a powerful teacher—but it doesn't always have to be our own experience. We can learn from our past, from the wisdom of others, from the Big Book, from sponsors, from mentors, and from people who have already walked the road we're traveling.
The problem isn't making mistakes.
The problem is refusing to learn from them.
Recovery invites us to stop asking, "Why does this keep happening to me?" and start asking, "What is this trying to teach me?"
When we ignore the lessons, we often find ourselves facing the same problems in different forms. The names change. The places change. The circumstances change. But the patterns remain.
Today on The Daily Trudge, we're talking about breaking unhealthy cycles, learning from both our successes and failures, and discovering why wisdom allows us to grow without having to repeat every painful lesson ourselves.
Because life will keep presenting the lesson...
Until we're willing to learn it.
